Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #68 Layered (In London)

Posted by

This weeks Lens Artist Challenge from Amy over at The World is a Book is centered around layered landscapes. I chose one of my favorite things in life: Trees.

I love trees for so many reasons – the beauty and depth they provide to landscapes, the shade they give for protection, and peace they bring when I am near. Not to mention all of the critical environmental benefits they bring to our eco-system.

Trees can have sooo many different meanings across cultures: inner strength, love, growth, power, courage, peace, good fortune, new beginnings, intuition, balance and promise, etc.

This image below was taken in Hyde Park, London just last week. This tree species is called the London Plane (cross between two different types of Sycamore trees). The sycamore tree is symbolic of strength, protection, eternity, and divinity.

I love the different types of layers contained within this image: the canopies, lamp-posts, people, and leaves, for a far as the eye can see.

I choose this….

    1. Thanks Jeff! I got a new camera, no editing on this one…which is cool because I have a tendency to over think and therefore over edit photos!

    1. Thanks for the kind comments! I may do that. It was a weird vacation in that we did nothing but walk 13 miles a day around the city! We had a blast though. πŸ™‚

  1. This is a great shot, Pam!! I loved the tree-lined walkways in Hyde Park. So gorgeous. I love trees as well…for all the wonderful reasons that you mentioned. Great take on layers! πŸ™‚
