Lens-Artists Challenge #63 – Magical Telluride, Colorado

Telluride is a an old gold and silver mining mountain town in Southwest Colorado – it’s situated in a box canyon which means there is only one way in and one way out! It’s known for its world class skiing in winter and weekly festival schedule in the summer. So many fun options in this town – if it weren’t so far away from home, I’d be here every weekend. I think it’s one of the most beautiful places in the world – the mountains are truly majestic!

This past weekend, we went to the Blues and Brews festival – we didn’t love the line up so much, but spending any amount of time in this town brings a ton of joy. In fact, it brought some magic to us as well….we bumped into a friend of Sean’s he has not seen in over 10 years! The reunion was sooo much fun – the friend was adorable – kind and funny. Love, love re-opening doors with good people from the past!

  4. Another Colorado town I have yet to visit. I’ve been to a bunch, but there are so many magical places in that state! I had no idea it was in a box canyon and didn’t imagine the rock looking like that either. If I end up spending more time out there next summer, it’ll definitely make my short list. Sounds like a great weekend, especially the chance meeting with an old friend!

  9. Telluride is one of my favorite places on the face of the earth although sadly I have not visited there in a very long time. I voyaged there a few times overland for the Blue Grass Festival a couple of times and would love to return again. How lucky you are to be so close …at least closer than I am now.

    1. When you are back in the states – you should treat yourself to a trip there! BG is really fun. I try to get to TR at least once a year. We are trying to be there for closing ski weekend in April of next year. Stuff gets booked up – have to plan sooo far in advance these days! Happy to hear you dig it too 😉
